Here’s a clip of the first single off Born and Raised, called “Shadow Days.” I’m excited to share the first bit of sound from the album… Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs. Enjoy.
This is Philip Sayce and he fucking rules. My buddy Joel plays bass in the band.
If you like music, listen to all of this. If you don’t like music, fuck off.
Completely jet lagged as my trip always begins, I found myself wandering early this morning around an undiscovered section of Zoetermeer, Holland - a small city that has become very familiar recently. Philip’s record label, Provogue Records is located nearby and there is a beautifully run venue here called De Boerderij where we frequently play. What had become a routinely perplexing 10 minute walk in recent excursions from our hotel to find an ATM, today I discovered an amazing weekend farmers market, hidden behind a large, local shopping center. I arrived early, just as the kiosks, carts, trucks, and stalls were just opening for the day’s business. On hand was an incredible selection of fresh and cooked fish, fresh and cured meats, beautiful produce, potatoes, handcrafted breads, olives, freshly made dolmas and other mediterranean specialties, nuts, and desserts. This market and many others like it across Europe are a genuine hub of weekend, local life. As my culinary enthusiasm grows, i’m always grateful to stumble upon these gems. I took some photos for you to enjoy.

Cale Giachello trying not to get TOO funky at a new Laparis Nervosa session last weekend w/ Cale, Sean Billings, Emily Nafius, and Paul Clark.
I promised another video clip from these recent Sergio Mendoza Y La Orkesta Los Angeles shows and I delivered. This is a short clip of “La Rienda”
